BLS Provider Plus

This is exactly what it sounds like, make sure you study and are confident with your skillset. If you are not successful you must purchase and take a BLS Renewal course. 

The BLS for Health Care provider written challenge is designed to provide licensed healthcare professionals with the skills to keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated with more advanced lifesaving measures. 

  1. Successfully complete the written exam (25 questions) with a score of 84% or higher. (if unsuccessful on the first attempt, you will not be allowed to take the skills testing the same day).
  2.  Successfully complete the Adult and Infant Skills Testing. 
  3. After the successful completion of steps 1 & 2, you will be issued your AHA®BLS Provider Card.

 This portion is intended for:

  • Physicians
  • Nurses
  • Paramedics
  • EMT’s
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Physician Assistants
  • First Responders, such as firefighters

This course is open ONLY to students taking ACLS and or PALS on the same day as the challenge. This is a challenge. There is no instruction. You must pass a written BLS exam and demonstrate proficiency in Adult, Pediatric, and Infant manikins to successfully pass this challenge.

Steps for successful completion of the BLS Challenge option for renewal of AHA® BLS Provider card:

 

1. Successfully complete the written exam (25 questions) with a score of 84% or higher. (if unsuccessful on the first attempt, you will not be allowed to take the skills testing the same day).

 

2. Successfully complete the Adult and Infant Skills Testing. 

 

3. After successful completion of steps 1 & 2, you will be issued your AHA®BLS Provider Card.

  • EMT’s
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapists
  • Physician Assistants
  • Residents or fellows
  • Medical or nursing students in training
  • Aides, medical or nursing assistants, phlebotomists, and other allied health personnel
  • First Responders, such as police officers and firefighters

(Students are required to bring BLS provider manual to class)
